چکیده
Background: This study evaluated the effectiveness, safety, and possible changes in bowel symptoms after multicompartment prolapse surgery by comparing two different surgical approaches, transvaginal mesh with levatorplasty (TVMLP) robot-assisted sacrocolpopexy (RSC). Methods: All patients underwent pelvic (POP-Q staging system) rectal examination to evaluate anal sphincter tone lithotomy position appropriate Valsalva test. The preoperative evaluation included urodynamics magnetic resonance defecography. Patient Global Impression of Improvement (PGI-I) at follow-up measured subjective improvement. completed Agachan–Wexner’s questionnaire 0 12 months symptoms. Results: A total 73 cases were randomized into RSC group (36 cases) TVMLP (37 cases). After surgery, main POP-Q stage both groups was I (RCS 80.5% vs. 82%). There a significant difference (p < 0.05) postoperative tone: 35%. experienced hypertonic sphincter, while none did. Regarding improvement, median PGI-I 1 groups. At follow-up, exhibited improvement Conclusions: successfully corrected POP. showed greater Agachan–Wexner score lower

Assessment of the durability of robot-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for treatment of vaginal vault prolapse
Transabdominal sacrocolpopexy has been shown, in multiple long-term studies of its success and durability, to be the definitive treatment option for post-hysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse. It is, however, associated with greater morbidity than vaginal repair. We describe a minimally invasive technique for vaginal vault prolapse repair and present our experience with a minimum of one-year foll...
متن کاملLaparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for the correction of vaginal vault prolapse.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy offers a minimally invasive approach to correcting vaginal vault prolapse. We describe our operative technique and review our experience. PATIENTS AND METHODS A retrospective study of 10 patients who underwent laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy between February 2000 and June 2002 for posthysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse was performed. Data collec...
متن کاملA review of the current status of laparoscopic and robot-assisted sacrocolpopexy for pelvic organ prolapse.
CONTEXT Abdominal sacrocolpopexy (ASC) represents the superior treatment for apical pelvic organ prolapse (POP) but is associated with increased length of stay, analgesic requirement, and cost compared with transvaginal procedures. Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (LSC) and robot-assisted sacrocolpopexy (RSC) may offer shorter postoperative recovery while maintaining equivalent rates of cure. OBJE...
متن کاملLaparoscopic sacrocolpopexy versus vaginal sacrospinous fixation for vaginal vault prolapse, a randomized controlled trial: SALTO-2 trial, study protocol
BACKGROUND Hysterectomy is one of the most performed surgical procedures during lifetime. Almost 10 % of women who have had a hysterectomy because of prolapse symptoms, will visit a gynaecologist for a surgical correction of a vaginal vault prolapse thereafter. Vaginal vault prolapse can be corrected by many different surgical procedures. A Cochrane review comparing abdominal sacrocolpopexy to ...
متن کاملSupracervical Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy for Pelvic Organ Prolapse
BACKGROUND Supracervical robotic-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (SRALS) is a new surgical treatment for pelvic organ prolapse that secures the cervical remnant to the sacral promontory. We present our initial experience with SRALS in the same setting as supracervical robotic-assisted hysterectomy (SRAH). METHODS Women with vaginal vault prolapse and significant apical defects as defined...
